The Remarkables Range is part of the Southern Alps, located in Otago, a region on the South Island of New Zealand.

Bordering onto Lake Wakatipu, its impressive skyline dominates Queenstown, The Adventure Capital of New Zealand. The Remarkables highest peaks are Double Cone (2340 m) and Ben Nevis (2330 m).

In wintertime this mountain range is one of the main tourist skifields of New Zealand. It opened in 1985 and since then hosts skiers and snowboarders from all over the world, on 220 hectares of skiable terrain. One beginner tow, one magic carpet for beginners and three quad chairs offer access to the well maintained ski slopes.
Due to its 150m FIS specification Parklife Superpipe and the Terrain Parks, The Remarkables Ski Area is very popular with young snowboarders and freeskiers. Further attractions are the Tubing Park and the Homeward Bound run, a backcountry trail within ski area boundaries.
The Remarkables Ski Area is considered as very family orientated. This also shows in the free day pass for any child ten years and under.

The Remarkables impressive Skyline must have inspired Peter Jackson to film parts of the Trilogy "The Lord of the Rings" in the Deer Park Heights, situated close by.
